On the Ranking of University Libraries

Abstract

This study aims to compensate for the absence of a system for ranking university
libraries. It contains detailed research, including the compilation and analysis of
opinions, interviews with 13 librarians in six countries, and the identification of fundamental
metrics for ranking university libraries. The primary goal is to develop concrete
criteria for ranking university libraries in Türkiye, which can serve as a valuable
resource for scientists, researchers, and library professionals in the field. By providing
a concrete framework, we seek to enhance the effectiveness and transparency of
the ranking process, and to ultimately improve university library services in Türkiye
